STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you’re a Girl Scout Cookie aficionado and enjoy the light, chocolatey bite of a Thin Mint, wait till you meet the “Raspberry Rally.”
“This thin, crispy cookie — infused with raspberry flavor and dipped in chocolatey coating — is sure to become a new favorite,” the organization’s website reads, calling the new offering a “sister cookie” to the Girl Scout Thin Mint.
A limited time exclusive that can only be purchased online and shipped directly to your home, the organization says the cookie was developed to help local Girl Scouts develop their entrepreneurial skills.
“Offering Raspberry Rally online allows Girl Scouts to learn new skills and build their e-commerce business,” the organization says on its website. “Plus, customers … get the opportunity to order this new and exciting product alongside your favorite varieties.”
The “Raspberry Rally” will be available starting in early 2023, when Girl Scout Cookie selling season restarts. (Only about 134 days away, according to a countdown ticker on the Girl Scout site.) A box of Girl Scout Cookies typically sells for about $5 and proceeds go to local troops and councils, allowing the group to continue to teach their members life skills, leadership and problem-solving techniques.
The release of the “Raspberry Rally” comes one year after the launch of the “Adventureful,” a new chocolate cookie filled with caramel creme and topped with chocolate drizzle. Classics like Samoas, Do-si-dos, Tagalongs and Trefoils — which have been offered for decades — are still sold annually.
