Home Sales in the U.K. Dropped 21% Annually in October
U.K. home sales fell 21% year over year in October, as well as 3% since September, according to data from the government. Elevated interest rates are keeping buyers on the fence, although that could change in the new year. “Encouragingly, the direction of travel for new mortgage rates is downwards, with fixed rates looking increasingly attractive,” said Mark Harris, chief executive of mortgage broker SPF Private Clients. “However, borrowers do have to accept that they will pay considerably more now than in the heady days of sub-1% mortgages.” The Independent

Blondie’s Connecticut estate is available for rent for $6,000 a month. Singer Debbie Harry’s Colonial home in Roxbury, Connecticut, is a two-bedroom, three-bathroom home sitting on 26 acres of wooded land. Singapore and Zurich Tie for World’s Most Expensive Cities
For the ninth time in 11 years, Singapore has been crowned the world’s most expensive city, according to a study by the Economist Intelligence Unit. But the Southeast Asia financial hub tied with the Swiss city of Zurich, according to the report, which has been tracking data in 173 cities for more than 30 years. “While Zurich’s rise reflects the strength of the Swiss franc and high prices for groceries, household goods and recreation, Singapore continues to see high price levels across several categories,” the report said. Kauai Home Relists for $18 Million, a $6 Million Discount
A Hawaiian home near Kauai’s Hanalei Bay has been relisted for $18 million, a cool $6 million less than its original ask last year. Owned by Hollywood producer Scott Sloan—known for independent features “Dog Gone Love,” “Steaming Milk” and “Jack and Jill vs. the World”—and his wife, Brittany, the residence has four bedrooms and five bathrooms on a half an acre of land. It has automated tropical hardwood gates and a lava rock wall, plus high ceilings, wood-paneled walls and built-ins throughout.
