Over a year may have passed since Huawei has been unable to pre-install Google Mobile Services (GMS) on its devices, but people remain steadfast in developing workarounds. LZPlay has been the most popular way of bringing GMS to devices like the Mate 30 and P40 series. However, that could well change with Googlefier, a new way of enabling GMS on Honor and Huawei devices.
Googlefier has been developer by bender_007, a member of the XDA Developers Forums. Googlefier uses LZPlay as many alternatives do, but it promises to be a more elegant solution than others. If your smartphone or tablet meets several criteria, then you could have GMS installed in under ten minutes. However, there are a few things worth noting before you attempt to use Googlefier.
Firstly, it will only install GMS on devices that Huawei or Honor released before April 2020. So, while the Mate 30 and P40 series are eligible, the newly released Mate 40 series is not. Additionally, Googlefier will not work on EMUI 11 or on firmware released after June 15, 2020. If your device has a newer firmware installed, then you will need to downgrade it to an earlier version for Googlefier to work. A factory reset is also recommended. XDA Developers has been successful in installing GMS on its Huawei P40 Pro, as the video below shows.
