Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is doing all it can to bring its HarmonyOS up to speed. The company is also working on the Huawei Mate 50 series which will arrive soon. A few days ago, there were reports that the HarmonyOS 3.0 will be official in late July. The report also claims that the HarmonyOS 3.0 removes the bugs in the 2.0 version and the system is more simple. With the blessing of the new algorithm, HarmonyOS 3.0 is smoother than HarmonyOS 2.0 in daily use. Not long ago, Huawei officially opened the developer public beta registration of HarmonyOS 3.0 system. The registration deadline is July 15, and the review deadline is July 25.
According to the company, the devices that support the public beta include

Given that the public beta support upgrades directly from HarmonyOS 2.0, there are speculations that most of the current HarmonyOS 2.0 devices will easily upgrade to version 3.0. Furthermore, there are reports that in the developer preview version of HarmonyOS 3.0, continuous innovation has been made around the three core values of system architecture, hyperterminal, and one-time development and multi-terminal deployment. It also brings a comprehensive upgrade to the system capabilities and development tools.
As for the Huawei Mate 50 series, the initial report claims that all the models will support 4G network. Although they will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, they will support only 4G. Nevertheless, with the use of the latest 5G communication case, these devices will also support 5G
Huawei launched the Harmony 2.0 system in early June last year. This year, it will upgrade to the Harmony 3.0. It has already started beta testing and there are reports that the public beta version of Harmony 3.0 will arrive soon. The beta version of the Huawei HarmonyOS 3.0 is now open for public beta recruitment. Now some developers and netizens have received SMS notifications. Huawei claims that it will push the public beta version of the HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta version within 1 to 2 working days.
There are also reports that the beta version of HarmonyOS 3.0 developers version has greatly enhanced the development capabilities of JS/eTS language applications, and further improved the functions of ArkUI and ArkCompile. You can efficiently develop complex interface applications with concise JS/eTS language, and at the same time obtain an improvement in application startup speed.
In addition, it is still uncertain when the official version of HarmonyOS 3.0 will arrive. Nevertheless, there are many rumors that it will arrive with the Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones. From the speculations so far, this device will come with a new Kirin SoC and the chip name is “Kirin 9000s”. The 5G communication case is the rescue for this device. With this case, the Huawei Mate 50 series will support 5G network.
A recent leak claims that the Huawei Mate 50 series will officially launch on September 12th. This means that this smartphone will arrive with the Apple iPhone 14 series. The Mate 50 series will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G processors. Furthermore, this device will have significant upgrades in the camera department.
After the release of the Huawei HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta version, the audit push was officially launched recently. The user interface details of the new system are also displayed. In HarmonyOS 3.0, the icons in the status bar have been fine-tuned. The HD icon, which was criticized by many people as “unsightly” before, has been removed. The company also did some adjustments to the icons such as Wi-Fi. At the same time, in the new version, the side notification bar of the system also has some tweaks.
In addition to fine-tuning the existing UI, HarmonyOS 3.0 will also make other optimization changes based on the current system. It will remove the bloated parts of HarmonyOS 2.0 and use new algorithms to make the system smoother.
The HarmonyOS is already running on hundreds of millions of smartphones in China. However, this system is yet to leave the Chinese shores. However, there are reports that the global launch of this system will happen this year. Although the company’s smartphone sales are declining outside China, it still has millions of users.

It is important to note that the link above is a public beta test for developers. According to Huawei’s explanation in the FAQ, it is aimed at developers/partners who have put their applications on the Huawei AppGallery. However, since the public beta support has been upgraded from HarmonyOS 2.0, it is speculated that most or even all of the current HarmonyOS 2.0 devices will be iterated to 3.0. In addition, judging from the public beta time, the public version or official version of the HarmonyOS 3.0 system should not arrive earlier than mid-July.
There are reports that a non-Huawei smartphone, Gionee G13 Pro will pre-install the HarmonyOS system. This smartphone comes with a UNISOC Tiger T310 SoC as well as a 6.26-inch display with a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. In the camera department, this smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup. It uses a 13MP main camera as well as a 5MP camera in the front. To keep its lights on, this smartphone uses a built-in 3500mAh battery. In June last year, the much-anticipated Huawei HarmonyOS 2 was officially released. So far, the Harmony OS has more than 300 million users.
