Grammy nominations were announced on Tuesday, and several talent show stars received nods. That includes former One Direction star Harry Styles and Watch Out for the Big Grrrls star Lizzo. Meanwhile, former American Idol judge Nicki Minaj failed to earn a nomination following a recent issue with the Grammys.
Harry Styles, who got his start on The X Factor, earned six nominations on Tuesday. That includes Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year.
Meanwhile, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls star Lizzo was nominated for five awards, including Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year.
Current The Voice coach Camila Cabello was also nominated this year. Her song “Bam Bam” with Ed Sheeran is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Fellow coach John Legend is nominated for his collaboration with DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, and Fridayy on “God Did.”
Returning coach Kelly Clarkson also earned a nomination for her holiday album When Christmas Comes Around… It’s up for the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album award. Meanwhile, former Comeback Stage coach Kelsea Ballerini was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance, and Battle Advisor Jazmine Sullivan was nominated in several R&B categories.

You might recall that earlier this year, Nicki Minaj called out the Grammys for reportedly putting her song “Super Freaky Girl” up for consideration in the pop category instead of rap. She shared that she would still attend the show if she was nominated.
We might not be seeing Minaj at next year’s ceremony, because she didn’t receive any nominations, in either the rap or pop categories. Latto, with whom Minaj engaged in a Twitter argument last month, was nominated for two awards — Best New Artist and Best Melodic Rap Performance.
Another artist who didn’t receive any nominations on Tuesday is former The Voice star Morgan Wallen, who caused controversy last year for using the N-word. American Idol winner Carrie Underwood was also left out of this year’s nominations entirely.
The 65th Grammys will take place February 5, 2023. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
