Hardin County Schools saw zero discrepancies in its 2021-2022 audit.
The Hardin County Schools audit was performed by Heartland CPAs and Advisors PLLC, according to an HCS news release.
In his report to the Hardin County Board of Education during the monthly work session in September, Brian Woosley, CPA, reported that he and his team had zero audit findings to report for both the district and schools in the most recent audit.
“This is the first time I’ve ever discovered zero findings,” Woosley told the board. “I’ve audited a lot of institutions, including school districts, and zero findings is certainly a rarity, especially for a district of this size.”
HCS Chief Operations Officer John Stith said their school bookkeepers are doing an amazing job.
“They are persistent in getting the information they need and work hard to ensure that they know about each penny that goes in and out of their doors,” Stith said in the release. “Central office staff member Christie Vuleta works closely with our bookkeepers and school administrators to provide guidance and assistance and is an essential resource for them. Finance Director Jessica Annis is also critical to our success in this regard. Her expertise and dedication are important in so many ways.”
The complete audit report was presented to and adopted by the Board at its September meeting. It can be found on the district website, hardin.k12.ky.us. According to the news release, the district educates more than 14,000 students, employs more than 2,500 people, houses 23 educational facilities, works with dozens of booster groups and has a $182 million budget.
