On the heels of a recent solid fuel close-range ballistic missile salvo, Pyongyang claimed on Monday that it carried out its first-ever launch of a sea-launched cruise missile (SLCM) from a submarine.
North Korean state media reported that it launched two “strategic cruise missiles” — likely of the same type first revealed in Sept. 2021 — from its Gorae-class ballistic missile submarine (SSB) on Sunday, a day before the U.S. and South Korea began large-scale field training.
