She is one of the most famous woman on the planet, and was named Times Magazine Woman of the Year in 1952. Every year Americans tourists are drawn to London because of the Queen with royalty being the biggest attraction for American tourists, especially Buckingham palace, according to the Evening Standard.

The Queen, ascended to the throne following the death of her father King George VI, who died on Feb. 6, 1952. Elizabeth, who was just 25 years old then, would become the next monarch and queen.
However, Queen Elizabeth II was 27 years old when she was coronated on June 2, 1953, a little over one year after the death of her father, according to History.com. Coronations take place months after the death of the former sovereign following long preparations and a period or mourning.
Elizabeth, however, was not born to be queen. In fact her father, King George VI whose given name was Albert, became king only after his older brother King Edward VIII abdicated to marry a divorced American woman, Wallis Simpson, according to History.com. After her uncle abdicated the throne, with Elizabeth next in line she started preparing to succeed her father.

Born on April 21, 1926, the Queen is 96 years old as of the summer of 2022. The Queen is the longest reigning British monarch, with her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria the second-longest reigning monarch of the British Empire.
The Queen became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee on Feb. 6, 2022, which marked 70 years of service to the British people. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee included four days of celebrations and an extended bank holiday weekend to allow people to celebrate.
“The Firm” is “a $28 billion empire that pumps hundreds of millions of pounds into the United Kingdom’s economy every year,” according to Forbes. Tourism of Commonwealth countries and royal weddings, including the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which generated $1.5 billion for the U.K. economy, all generate profit for the global business enterprise.
The Queen also has personal assets of $500 million, including two castles, jewels and investments, according to Forbes.
