In my years of making documentaries, few have made me more aware of my way thinking and acting, as a flawed human, than this series has.
Wading through a sea of research, we learnt how nudges are everywhere: They are in the aisles of the supermarkets we visit, and on the mobile phones that we carry.
We also learnt how our brains still harbour caveman instincts which do not always work in our favour. But we can make use of those instincts to nudge ourselves – or others – in the ways we desire.
While I can’t say I’m an expert now, I have at least learnt to see how my Unconscious Biases interfere with my thinking; recognised our ability to Synthesize Happiness; and found comfort in a thing called our Psychological Immune System. I know it’s quite a bit of jargon, but we’ve read through and made sense of the studies so you don’t have to.
