In a recent interview with Chinese state media, Honor CEO, Zhao Ming talked about the culture of Huawei and what he has learned from the former parent company.
Zhao revealed that he has worked at Huawei for 22 years and learned a lot. Honor CEO expressed that Huawei has a culture of facing crisis and it helped him to remain sober and calm in the face of challenges and difficulties.
In November 2020, Huawei officially announced partition with Honor. The decision came after the company was facing immense bans and restrictions from the U.S. and it then decided to make Honor independent.
Challenges:
Zhao also talked about the breakup with Huawei. After that, Honor moved on its own path. However, people were not optimistic about Honor and predicted that the phone maker is dying. There were some other factors such as epidemic and market conditions that were against everyone.
Honor chief then emphasized his efforts to climb up the ladder. In 2021, Honor started to relaunch the smartphones in the market and the sales started rising. He said, Honor is not Huawei and it has to find a path of development suitable for its growth.
Throughout the past year, Honor has released a number of new smartphones and ramped up efforts to unveil even more in the upcoming year.

Samsung has transferred 98 U.S. technology patents to Huawei, this is quite a big patent-sharing activity and we’ve some more information to share.
South Korean media, Thelec reported that Samsung transferred 81 patents in 2019 and there are 98 U.S. patents (new ones) to Huawei last month. Therefore, a total of 179 patents transferred from Samsung to Huawei so far.
Huawei and Samsung signed a cross-license patent-sharing agreement, which allows both of these companies to share patents with each other. However, the recent agreement is just a new version, which was first signed in 2019 after their patent dispute.
According to the information, the worth of patents shared by both Samsung to Huawei is likely to be the same. It is also revealed that the patent shared under this agreement are related to telecommunication, charging, camera, display, and more.
Currently, there are no specific details about the patent technologies that Huawei will use to produce its products but we can remain optimistic that these will do some good to the tech maker.
It’s reported that Huawei has signed a similar agreement with major players in the tech industry including the home ground smartphone maker, Oppo. Huawei is focusing more on sharing patent technologies with other companies in a way to make revenue from its patent prowess.

The U.S. continues to attack Huawei, in the latest edition, U.S. lawmakers restricted the Chinese tech company from accessing U.S. banks.
Reuters reported that U.S. lawmakers such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, seek to “severely action” against Huawei and other “untrustworthy” Chinese 5G producers who they say engage in economic espionage against the U.S.
Since when has Huawei started hacking U.S. banks? We could guess that the tech maker may not even know this by itself. However, the Treasury Department’s Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) has published a list, which will freeze access to entities from the U.S. financial system.
It’s not the first time when the U.S. tried to ban Huawei from the bank system but a similar approach has been taken in a bill in 2020 during the tenure of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Why the U.S. taking this step:
“We cannot allow Huawei and the Chinese Communist Party to have access to Americans’ personal data and our country’s most sensitive defense systems,” said Republican senator Tom Cotton.
Same reason, Huawei is a security threat, and it will steal our data and so on. However, there’s no clue or the process of how Huawei is capable of conducting such secret operations. How Huawei is able to transmit that data for its own use case.
Last month, the U.S. introduced a bill to ban the purchase of any new Huawei-made equipment inside the country.
Reason:
In the wake of the new trade war with China, the US is continuously attacking Huawei in the name of national security. The Chinese tech maker is known for its tech prowess in the network industry. Hence, the US has severely hurt Huawei on all grounds possible.
This includes a ban on its access to chipsets and reduced business across different regions. Huawei’s smartphone business is also hit by the U.S. sanctions.
Trying:
Yes, the new sanctions may further increase difficulties for Huawei but the company is currently in survival mode. Therefore, it has already left hope with the U.S. and other restricted markets. Therefore, the tech maker is focusing on the home ground.

Despite challenges, Huawei is achieving high 5G including the latest 10 fold uplink speed than traditional 5G. The latest announcement came during the 10th China Mobile Global Partner Conference, China Mobile released the 5G-Advanced “Innovation Chain-Industrial Chain” Dual-chain Convergence Action Plan Yearbook (2022 Edition). Huawei participated in this release event as the only representative of telecom equipment vendors.
In 2022, Huawei is working on a dual-chain integration action plan. Therefore, the Chinese tech maker is working with its partners such as China Mobile to gain new efficiency.
This includes innovative in-depth cooperation production of multiple phased results and contribution of 25 out of 79 yearbook results, ranking first among all partners.
As mentioned by Huawei, the guidance of the dual-chain fusion action plan, the first batch of 5G 5G-A end-to-end industry models including:
1. Based on X-layer cross-layer integration technology, the collaborative innovation of four-dimensional integration of device-network-cloud-industry, with the help of service label information perception and network status information perception, achieves fine-level QoS guarantee for XR services and increases the number of users with satisfactory experience 5 times.
2. The SUL-based dual-carrier UDD is the first in the industry to achieve a cell uplink peak rate exceeding 3Gbps through 50MHz SUL+100MHz TDD, attributing Huawei to achieve 10 fold 5G rate increase.
3. Jointly completed the test of eIoT cellular Internet of Things (ie passive Internet of Things) technology prototype, achieving a coverage distance of more than 200 meters for the first time in the industry, which is more than 20 times higher than that of traditional RFID technology.
4. Work together to create a model of synaesthesia fusion, and realize real-time tracking of vehicle trajectories by deploying communication-sensing integrated base stations. Under the requirements of sub-meter precision, the perception distance exceeds 800 meters for the first time.
