Huawei has finally started selling the MatePad Paper, having announced the device in February at MWC 2022. To recap, the MatePad Paper has a 10.3-inch and 1,872 x 1,404-pixel E Ink display with a 227 PPI pixel density and an 86.3% screen-to-body ratio. Incidentally, the greyscale panel has 32-stage backlighting, theoretically making it possible to use the device in various light conditions.
Moreover, the MatePad Paper supports optical character recognition (OCR), courtesy of HarmonyOS 2. According to Huawei, HarmonyOS 2 is powered by an unnamed hexa-core chipset and 4 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, Huawei includes a 3,625 mAh battery and 64 GB of storage. Allegedly, the tablet will last up to 28 days between charges too, thanks in part to its low-powered display.
For reference, the MatePaper Paper will only be available in black and for €499. However, this price tag includes a second-generation M-Pencil and a Paper Folio Cover, with the former selling for €100 itself. Additionally, Huawei has confirmed that it will offer 0% finance on the MatePad Paper throughout the next twelve months, as well as a 5% discount for Unidays members.
