January 2022 security update is released for Huawei MatePad Pro tablet running on EMUI 11 software system in the global market. This update enhances the security level of the device by fixing various vulnerabilities and threats.
Huawei MatePad Pro January 2022 security update arrives the firmware version EMUI 11.0.0.247 with an installation package size of 311MB. To be mentioned, this big-size update doesn’t include any major changes apart from security improvements.
With the January 2022 EMUI security update, Huawei fixes 4 critical, 12 high, and 47 medium levels of CVEs in the system as well as 2 high levels of CVE in third-party libraries for better system security.
So, if you are a Huawei MatePad Pro tablet owner with EMUI 11, it is recommended you download and install the update as soon as it appears on the device. However, the update is rolling out gradually in the global market so it may take some time to reach you.

EMUI 12 for tablets?
In the second half of 2021, Huawei introduced the latest EMUI 12 operating system inspired by HarmonyOS. Afterward, the Chinese tech giant began the EMUI 12 beta testing for flagship smartphones including Mate 40, P40, and more followed by a stable rollout.
Meanwhile, Huawei has not announced or opened the EMUI 12 beta activity slots for tablets. But, it is expected that the company will soon expand the reach of EMUI 12 to more global devices.
How to update:
To request the update through Settings, go to the settings, tap on system & updates, click on software updates then tap on checks for updates. If an update is available, hit the download and install button.
Alternatively, you can also download the update for the My Huawei app. To do this, open the My Huawei app, go to the update section, download, and install.
Before updating, make sure that your device is charged at least 30% or above. Also, maintain enough storage to download the update package. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation started.

We’re officially in November and Huawei continues to rollout new EMUI security updates and improvements for smartphones in the global market.
Meanwhile, we also noted that the release of the October 2022 security patch for flaghip phones – P50 Pro, Mate 30 Pro, and P40 Pro is still in the air. As these phone users continue to ramp up reports on the receiving.
Still, we don’t have a clue about EMUI 13, yes, Huawei has not released a roadmap or testing details on this upcoming EMUI version. On the other hand, fans are waiting eagerly to get their hands on the next EMUI version.
As revealed in the listing, EMUI 13 comes with new features and optimizations over EMUI 12. This version has brand-new service widgets, and an improved large folder system with more layouts. Huawei has also increased safety with new security and privacy center.

Huawei Nova 9 is getting new firmware that comes with November 2022 security patch for a better EMUI software system. However, the phone users have not received a new major software upgrade so far.
Huawei Nova 9 brings you EMUI 12 out of the box. It would be interesting to see this smartphone gearing up with EMUI 13 as soon as possible.
The November 2022 firmware update for Huawei Nova 9 is rolling out with EMUI version 12.0.1.263. On the other hand, the package size is 358MB, which may vary in different markets.

EMUI 13 is already here but Huawei has not announced new details about the rollout, for which we’re eagerly waiting. So, what’s going on and why has Huawei haven’t spilled words on EMUI 13 release?
Let’s check the stash of information we’ve.
Huawei Mate 50 Pro:
The Chinese tech maker is still expanding this flagship in the global market and it comes packed with EMUI 13. Yeah, it is the first Huawei smartphone to bring it pre-installed.
However, EMUI 13 is also taken as a major selling point for the smartphone because there are a number of new additions.
December:
Last year, Huawei began EMUI 12 beta testing in December in European markets. But this year could be different as we’ve already passed through 25 days of November 2022.
Cutting to the chase, we now may have to wait until the next month (December) to get started with EMUI 13.
In a recent reply to a Twitter user, Huawei said it has not announced the EMUI 13 roadmap. There was no further statement made about the release though.
