Huawei has finally released the MateStation X outside China, an all-in-one (AIO) desktop it launched last September in its home market. Essentially, Huawei has taken its MateView monitor, added a touchscreen and mated it to the hardware in the MateBook 16. Specifically, the MateStation X has a 28.2-inch IPS panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The display also offers a 3,840 x 2,560-pixel native resolution, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness.
It is worth noting that you cannot use the MateStation X with a VESA mount, as you can with the MateView. Predictably, Huawei builds some of the MateStation X’s components within the stand, which also appears to lack any height adjustment. The MateView’s rear-facing ports have also made way for a single power cable.
Still, the MateStation X should be powerful enough for most tasks, thanks to the Ryzen 5 5600H and Ryzen 7 5800H, both Zen 3 APUs based on AMD’s Cezanne H architecture. While the pair are 7 nm and 45 W APUs, the Ryzen 7 5800H has two more cores and four more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600H. Additionally, Huawei complements the powerful APUs with 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Unfortunately, it seems that these components are not user-replaceable.
The MateStation X starts at €2,199 in the Eurozone and comes with 5 W stereo speakers, a 10 W woofer and a 720p webcam, along with a complimentary mouse and keyboard. Huawei only includes two USB Type-A ports, two Type-C ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, regardless of the configuration.
