Today, we got a number of new pics of the upcoming Huawei P60 series’s TPU cover and it has a brand new camera system, which looks interesting from all aspects.
According to the image shared by tipster DigitalChatStation, the Huawei P60 cover reveals a brand new camera arrangement. The camera module is placed vertically.
The image shows four openings, three on the left and one on the right. The Three openings on the left consist of a large round camera and the other two are square.
We can predict that the large round cutout is for the main camera and the other two could be secondary lenses. The cutout on the top right corner could stand for LED flash followed by a color sensor. Looking from sideways, the camera appears to have a bump, similar to the Huawei P40 series.
Moving on, there is a volume rocker on the right side, followed by a power button.
Camera design:
If you look closely, it’s a kind of mix between Huawei P40 and P50 cameras. The shape of the Huawei P60 camera bump is inspired by the Huawei P40 and the ring design from the P50 series. The combination is looking nice though, as Huawei is preparing to bring a new photograph-oriented flaghip smartphone.
Specs:
The tipster has currently only shared the cover images but there is some information about Huawei P60 that should know. Huawei P60 series is unlikely to delay this year, as Huawei is about to return dual flaghip tradition. Therefore, we may see this new P series flagship in March-April 2023.
The P60 series will be powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset. That’s not it, Huawei will boost this smartphone lineup with new technologies and photography features.
But Huawei has not announced anything official for the time being. Yet we’ll keep you posted as we move toward the launch season.

Over the past three years, Huawei strengthen its Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) for phones and the company has moved with non Google apps.
In 2019, Huawei was banned by the U.S. and the company had to give up on Google Mobile Services and apps for its new phones. Since then, Huawei has released a variety of new phones all of them running without Google apps.
This year is no different and Huawei launched a variety of new phones including the Mate 50 Pro, Nova 10 series, and more. These phones pack solely the HMS ecosystem. Also powered by the latest EMUI 12 and EMUI 13.
Despite of lacking Google, Huawei has focused on smartphone technologies and fed EMUI with new features. For example, EMUI is better than ever, the EMUI 12 and EMUI 13 come with a brand new user interface.
There are new additions including smart folders, service widgets, better screen content management, optimized performance, and a variety of new security features for a safer user experience.
The app ecosystem matters, that’s why Huawei is expanding collaborations with popular app developers. The company is offering incentives and developer programs to support AppGallery to compete against the Play Store.
Aside from software, Huawei is one of the top smartphone makers. Despite facing many issues in the supply chain, Huawei kept on using the latest hardware in smartphones.
The new Huawei Mate 50 Pro is a prime example, as it packs a brand XMAGE new camera system and a powerful lens to take high-quality pictures.
On the other hand, Huawei is providing better design and high build quality, which is recognizable as the top trend in the smartphone industry. These traits add a different level of expertise to Huawei’s portfolio and the tech maker has maintained them throughout 2022.

Huawei Mate X3 is the next foldable smartphone and Huawei is also preparing to launch the P60 series. With that being said, Huawei could face a clash of launches for these anticipated flagships.
According to past reports, Huawei is ready to launch the new Mate X3 in the first quarter of this year. On the other hand, the Huawei P60 series is also scheduled in the same quarter.
In that case, what will Huawei do?
There are a total of three scenarios that Huawei could follow.
- Launching both of these together in March
- Launch Mate X3 in early or mid-March and push P60 for early April
- Launch Mate X3 in February and P60 in March
Why?
This year, Huawei is likely to launch a P series and Mate series (not foldable) phones. However, there’s no slot specifically booked for the Mate X3. As Huawei still organizes foldable phone launch events as non-primary lineups.
If we look at the past launch schedules, Huawei unveiled Mate X2 in February 2021, followed by Huawei P50 Pocket flip phone in late the same year. Followed by Mate Xs 2 in April and the Pocket S flip phone in November 2022.
The dual flaghip era is about to return in the Huawei smartphone ecosystem. And Huawei may not like to risk the shipment count of the Huawei P60 series. Therefore, launching Huawei Mate X3 ahead of the P60 series would be a better option rather than launching them together.
We may argue about an exact date for Mate X3, as Huawei has not confirmed any on the matter. But we have to relate that February would still be more suitable for the launch instead of going for March.
This window will provide enough time for the company to market Mate X3 and sell units. It will also create some distance between the launch event of both devices.
There’s a lot to know and we’ll keep you posted on official inputs, stay connected.
