The Watch 3 Pro remains one of Huawei’s most expensive smartwatches, even after considerable price cuts. However, the smartwatch has not enjoyed consistent software support, unlike other Huawei smartwatches. As Huawei Blog notes, the Watch 3 Pro received numerous updates last year, but none in 2022 until this month’s update.
Distributed as HarmonyOS 2.1.0.237, the update is over a 300 MB download through the Huawei Health app. According to Huawei Blog, the update installs in approximately 20 minutes, during which the Watch 3 Pro will display a progress bar. In comparison, other updates tend to take much longer to update, for one reason or another.
As the changelog below shows, Huawei has included five major changes with this month’s update. On the one hand, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.237 optimises the audio control centre, as well as system performance, system stability and the voice broadcast experience in some scenarios.
On the other hand, Huawei has enabled Urdu as a system language, which has approximately 62 million native speakers. Additionally, Huawei has installed the Star River watch face, which includes a simpler always-on-display (AoD) variant. HarmonyOS 2.1.0.237 should be available to download now across all global Watch 3 Pro models.
