Huawei has released a new update to the global version of the Watch FIT 2, with the company maintaining units it seels in China on a dedicated development branch. According to Huawei Ailesi, the Watch FIT 2 has received HarmonyOS 2.1.0.177, which is a 275 MB download via the Huawei Health app. As the screenshot below shows, Huawei has appended the HarmonyOS version number with the build number C00M04.
Based on the changelog below, Huawei has made a dozen changes to the Watch FIT 2 with HarmonyOS 2.1.0.177. Principally, this month’s update adds support for Running Ability Index (RAI), a feature that estimates VO2 Max levels when running to provide feedback about improving aerobic performance. For reference, other Huawei smartwatches support RAI, including the Watch GT 3 SE.
Additionally, it is now possible to set up to 10 alarms simultaneously, while HarmonyOS 2.1.0.177 also adds the option of editing the smartwatch’s layout by long-pressing any card element. Moreover, Huawei claims to have optimised the swimming pool activity by adding the ability to set a pool length. Similarly, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.177 should offer superior message notification functionality, along with improved call quality in certain scenarios. This month’s update for the Watch FIT 2 should be available to download now globally, regardless of the country in which you are based.
