The national team action begins again in the first international break since last year’s World Cup and a number of Chelsea players will be representing their countries over the next week. Here are all the fixtures which could feature the Blues.
It is a clean slate in Europe, as qualification begins anew for the next European Championship, which takes place in Germany in 2024, and it is a similar story in the younger age groups as qualifying continues for this year’s Euros at Under-17s and Under-19s level.
Elsewhere, there are some crucial matches coming up, when qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations reaches its conclusion, as does the group stage of the CONCACAF Nations League group stage in North America.
There are also two potential debuts to look out for, after Andrey Santos and Ben Elliott received their first senior call-ups, for Brazil and Cameroon respectively…
Belgium: Romelu Lukaku – The Red Devils’ qualifying campaign begins away at Sweden on Friday, before travelling to Germany for a friendly on Tuesday.
Croatia: Mateo Kovacic – At home against Wales on Saturday and away in Turkey on Tuesday.
England: Ben Chilwell, Conor Gallagher, Reece James – Away in Italy on Thursday and then at home against Ukraine on Sunday.
Portugal: Joao Felix – At home against Liechtenstein on Thursday and away in Luxembourg in Sunday.
Spain: Kepa Arrizabalaga – Their qualifying campaign begins at home against Norway on Saturday, before travelling to Scotland on Tuesday.
Switzerland: Denis Zakaria – The Swiss begin with their away fixture against Belarus on Saturday, which will be played on neutral ground in Serbia, due to the current UEFA ban on Belarus hosting international matches. They then host Israel in Geneva on Tuesday.
Ukraine: Mykhailo Mudryk – There is just the one game for Ukraine, facing England at Wembley on Sunday.
Wales: Ethan Ampadu – Away in Croatia on Saturday, followed by a home tie with Latvia on Tuesday.
Cameroon: Ben Elliott – The young midfielder could make his international debut after receiving his first call-up for two games against Namibia, at home on Thursday and away on Tuesday.
Senegal: Kalidou Koulibaly – The Lions of Teranga look to continue their 100 per cent start to qualifying in back-to-back matches against Mozambique, at home on Friday before the return fixture on Tuesday.
USA: Christian Pulisic – America conclude the Nations League group stage away at Grenada on Friday and at home against El Salvador on Monday, with both games starting late evening UK time. One point will be enough for the USA to qualify for the Gold Cup, and they are guaranteed to reach the Nations League finals if they avoid defeat in both games.
Argentina: Enzo Fernandez – Home games against Panama on Thursday and Curacao on Tuesday, both kicking off at midnight UK time.
Brazil: Andrey Santos – The young midfielder will be hoping to make his senior international debut when Brazil travel to Morocco for a friendly on Saturday.
Germany: Kai Havertz – A pair of home games, against Peru on Saturday and Belgium on Tuesday.
Morocco: Hakim Ziyech – They host Brazil in Tangier late Saturday evening, before facing Peru in Madrid on Tuesday.
England: Levi Colwill, Noni Madueke – Taking on France on Saturday and Croatia on Tuesday, both at home, in preparation for this year’s Under-21 Euros.
Finland: Lucas Bergstrom – Matches in Turkey against North Macedonia on Saturday and Bulgaria on Tuesday.
France: Benoit Badiashile – Away at England on Saturday before hosting Spain on Tuesday.
Italy: Cesare Casadei – Away against Serbia on Friday and then at home against Ukraine on Monday.
Netherlands: Ian Maatsen – Taking part in a training camp in Spain, which includes games against Norway on Saturday and Czechia on Monday.
Wales: Eddie Beach – Faces Scotland in Spain on Sunday afternoon.
Ivory Coast U23: David Fofana – A trio of friendlies away in Morocco tonight and Togo on Monday, either side of a home game with Uzbekistan on Saturday.
England U20: Carney Chukwuemeka, Bashir Humphreys, Harvey Vale – The Young Lions continue their preparations for this summer’s Under-20 World Cup with a home friendly with Germany tonight, followed by facing the USA (Saturday) and France (Tuesday) in Spain.
Norway U20: Bryan Fiabema – A pair of home fixtures in the European Elite League, hosting Italy on Thursday and Romania on Monday.
USA U20: Gaga Slonina – Ahead of the Under-20 World Cup, the USA have a trio of friendlies in Spain, against France tonight, England on Saturday and Serbia next Wednesday.
England U19: Lewis Hall, Zak Sturge, Charlie Webster – They host the elite qualifying round for this year’s Euros, starting against Hungary today, followed by games against Iceland on Saturday and Turkey on Tuesday.
England U18: Leo Castledine – A trio of friendlies in Croatia, starting against the hosts this afternoon before further games against Belgium on Friday and Switzerland on Monday.
England U17: Josh Acheampong, Somto Boniface, Kiano Dyer, Michael Golding – In the Netherlands for the elite qualifying round for the 2023 Under-17 Euros, where they face Denmark today, Northern Ireland on Saturday and the Dutch on Tuesday.
