Israeli pay-television broadcaster Charlton has retained rights to the country’s top two football divisions until at least 2026 after clubs ultimately opted for the security of a traditional broadcast deal over the launch of an OTT subscription platform to showcase matches.
Having received no bids in its recent invitation to tender, the Israeli Professional Football Leagues, the body that manages the commercial rights to the Israeli Premier League and Second Division, had pressed ahead with plans to set up the direct-to-consumer offering in time for next season.
