JERICHO/BETHLEHEM, Wednesday, February 22, 2023 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces today demolished Palestinian homes in the Jericho area, east of the West Bank, and in the Bethlehem district, in the south, according to various sources.
WAFA correspondent said Israeli army bulldozers demolished a two-story building in al-Dyouk al-Tahta village, west of the city of Jericho, under the pretext it was built without a permit.
The village has been the site of the demolition of seven homes since the start of the year, six were demolished on January 25 and a villa was demolished on January 10.
In the Bethlehem district, the Israeli forces demolished a house in al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem city, according to the head of al-Walaja village council Khader al-Araj.
He told WAFA that a large Israeli army force and an army bulldozer broke into Ein Jweiza area in the village and tore down a 110-square-meter house owned by a local woman under the pretext it was built without a permit.
Residents clashed with the soldiers during the raid, who fired tear gas at them causing suffocation cases.
