Last night another episode of America’s Got Talent: All-Stars aired on the American network NBC, the second of six preliminary episodes. The episode featured a number of acts from the show’s global franchises in India, UK, Germany, and the American franchise as well.
The show was full of stunning performances, but the most notable act to make an appearance was season 17 finalist and Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer Sara James. James has recently become a superstar in her home country of Poland after her 2021 appearance in Junior Eurovision, where she would come second. In the finale of America’s Got Talent season 17, Sara failed to make it into the top 5 and was thus eliminated before the second half of the show. Despite the disappointing placement, her appearance on the show would catapult her career even further in Poland.
Speaking about her return to the show, James said “Hopefully All-stars will give me the ability to travel across the world, that’s my dream…..I want to win the show, I want to be the first AGT person to win a Grammy.” When she entered the stage Simon was ecstatic to see James return, and Howie Mendel would exclaim “That’s an all-star!”
Her performance of Harry Style’s top hit As It Was showcased the growth she’s had since her appearance on the show just last year. The performance started off with a slowed down cover filled with doubled vocals that helped convey the message of the song’s opening lyrics, which flipped midway to the song’s original tempo. From then on the audience was hers, and gave her a standing ovation for what seemed like minutes.
Despite Mendel saying “that could be a winning performance”, the superfans of the show clearly did not agree. Sara failed to receive enough votes to advance to the next round of the show and was eliminated.
