Electric vehicle charging equipment supplier and integrator JET Charge will expand its Fishermans Bend, Victoria site, planning to add an additional 73 jobs.
According to a statement on Friday from the Victorian government, which has provided an undisclosed amount of support for the project, $3.3 million will be invested at the site. Additional roles will be “high-skilled jobs in electronics, engineering and logistics”.
According to its website, JET Charge was established in 2013 and currently employs almost 100, with operations in Australia and New Zealand.
“Expanding our operations in Victoria means we can continue to grow and develop our products, manufacturing electric vehicle chargers for more people across Australia and New Zealand,” said founder and CEO Tim Washington.
The state government has a goal of half of all new light vehicle sales to be EVs by 2030.
JET Charge is the national installation partner for companies including Tesla, Volvo, Porsche, Audi and Hyundai, with clients including domestic EV owning households to government to commercial property developers and companies.
Last month it was awarded a major contract by the Western Australian government to supply 98 Tritium fast chargers across 49 locations in the state.
