U.S. District Judge William Young, a veteran jurist known for setting quick schedules, set an Oct. 16 trial date in the DOJ’s lawsuit seeking to halt JetBlue’s planned $3.8 billion acquisition of Spirit Airlines. Young scheduled the nonjury, four-week trial during the first hearing to be held in the blockbuster case, which the department filed two weeks ago. Read more about the case.
