POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the foundation of accounting functions across operating divisions of the Signorelli portfolio. This includes coordinating cash transactions (the life-blood of the company), facilitating development draws working with both operations and accounting, organizing cash flow support, and being a key team member in company initiatives. This position directly supports the Division accountant and will have ownership of many key accounting processes. The successful candidate will need to be able to manage a catalogue of weekly tasks but also willing to be a jack of all trades who enjoys getting involved with all facets of the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Processing of transactional accounting (invoice coding, cash disbursements, cash receipts).
• Preparation and processing of monthly development draws.
• Tracking of division specific KPI's into supported system or methodical tracking in designed, approved and secured spreadsheets.
• Fulfill support requests (draws, audits, reviews, tax, reconciliation, underwriting support).
• Routing and record keeping of Division specific support (e.g. tenant lease agreements).
• Assisting project accountant with month-end close process.
• Overall support/document accounting and related organizational needs to facilitate retention policy and future support requests (review, audit, budgeting, regulatory).
• Performs other projects and related duties as assigned.
• Associate Degree or experience in related field of work.
• Proficiency with transactions in an ERP environment and strong excel skills.
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional manner and a strong ethical code.
• Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.
• Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with team members.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
