Australian ‘Palace’ Hits the Auction Block
A palatial home in Byron Bay, Australia, that’s been rented as luxury short-stay accommodation will go under the hammer this month. The Palace on Magnolia is reminiscent of a “19th-century Indian royal residence,” according to the listing. Property records reveal it was on and off the market for the past two years, however this is the first time it’s been offered at auction. It last sold for A$1.5 million in August 2020. The single-level residence is surrounded by palm trees and has archways, high ceilings and chandeliers. The property also comes with a pool, a spa and sauna and lush landscaped gardens. realestate.com.au

Jinan and Qingdao Lift All Curbs on Residential Real Estate
China’s predilection for real estate market restrictions appears to be taking a pause. Two of the largest cities in the eastern province of Shandong, Jinan and Qingdao, have lifted all curbs on home buying and selling—allowing any home to be put on the market—in a dramatic bid to boost property markets that are stuck in the doldrums. Jinan and Qingdao are not alone in making the potential market-shifting move. Just last week, Nanjing in eastern Jiangsu province and Dalian and Shenyang in northeastern Liaoning province, removed all restrictions on buyers and sellers, and Jiaxing city, in the eastern province of Zhejiang, announced it would take a similar route.
