Before the era of food delivery apps, there was 14022 if you wanted some finger lickin’ goodness delivered to your home.
Now, the food delivery hotline for KFC in Indonesia has been permanently disconnected.
KFC Indonesia announced that it hung up the hotline on Oct. 1, which was met with expressions of grief and heartbreak by boomers and millennials on social media.
A post shared by KFC Indonesia (@kfcindonesia)
“The hotline 14022 is a number embedded in my memory. It was like an emergency number, like 911,” one user wrote.
To be clear, KFC Indonesia has not stopped its delivery service. In fact, it is redirecting customers to its KFCKu app, which comes with a food delivery option.
Of course, KFC is also available on all major food delivery apps.
Farewell, 14022. Delivery apps are great and all, but gone are the days of prank calls and having to carefully explain our address before being told that it’s out of the restaurant’s delivery reach.
