Fast-food chain KFC has announced the opening of its first two Luxembourg restaurants, in Marnach and Pommerloch. Eventually, it hopes to have five to ten restaurants in the Grand Duchy.
KFC is coming to Luxembourg, starting in the north. The American fast-food chain, specialising in chicken and known for its Tenders, has announced the opening of its first two restaurants in the Grand Duchy for 2023.
The first will be located in the Nordstrooss Shopping Mile in Marnach. The second will be in the Pommerloch centre in Wiltz.
"Given that KFC already has a strong reputation in neighbouring countries, the next logical step is to enter the Luxembourg market," explains Geoffrey Gobraiville, senior real estate Belux-France at EG Group, the operator of the two future restaurants.
According to EG Group's initial analysis, the market potential is to have between "five and ten KFC restaurants in total in the Grand Duchy". It remains to be seen where and when the other three to eight will arrive. And what model they will adopt, since 2023 also marks the end of disposable containers in Luxembourg, whereas today, in France or Belgium, fries or burgers are served in cartons or paper.
In any case, EG Group has announced a terrace, drive-through and delivery service. KFC has more than 25,000 restaurants worldwide.
