Country singer Natalie Maines is prepping to part ways with her Los Angeles home in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood. Maines, lead singer of the Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks), purchased the chic property in 2007 for $5.6 million. Sales Rose 29.4% in British Columbia
Homes are selling fast in British Columbia. There were 3,979 residential sales in the Canadian province in January, a 29.4% increase from the same time in 2023, according to the British Columbia Real Estate Association. In January, British Columbia’s average MLS residential price was up 10.5% at C$957,909 (US705,054) compared to the low-point for average prices over the past two years, C$866,922. Home Sales Boomed in the U.K. in February as Prices Fell
February home sales in the U.K. increased by 15% annually, according to data from Zoopla. However, prices declined slightly, dipping 0.5% year over year, though seven regions saw a hike in home prices. “February sustained the new life we saw breathed into the market at the start of the year, with some buyers and sellers returning to the market, and sales picking up again,” said Sarah Coles, head of personal finance at Hargreaves Lansdown. However, Coles added that while mortgage rates began to fall at the end of 2023 into the new year, boosting “market optimism,” they’re back on the rise, which could sideline buyers once again. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have just sold a Montecito, California, compound for $32 million to billionaire mining tycoon Robert Friedland, chairman of Ivanhoe Mines. That’s nearly $10 million more than the former talk show host and her wife paid for the property in June.
