Authorities in Beijing have lifted a rule that limited the public advertising of listing prices of home resales in its Haidian district, which is known for its prestigious schools. With this decision, city authorities hope to boost housing demand as the country’s property market slides. Following the change, 29 pre-owned homes in the district have now publicly listed their prices. The price nondisclosure rule was initially put into place because of inflated demand for these homes, which grant students free admission to top schools, between 2020 and 2021. More U.K. Landlords Are Requiring Guarantors
An increasing number of landlords in the U.K. are now requiring tenants to have a guarantor in the case they cannot pay rent, according to Goodlord’s state of the lettings industry report. About 60% of landlords said they ask for a guarantor because of the tenant’s salary, while a sizable 16% of landlords are now requiring their tenants to provide a guarantor regardless of salary.
