A London Premier Inn hotel has been renamed in honour of King Charles’ Coronation this coming weekend. The hotel known as Premier Inn London Bank located on St Mary-at-Hill, has been given a makeover with new signage to welcome guests flocking to the city for the big weekend.
Guests will be greeted with a signage emblazoned with the name the ‘Cor-Inn-nation’, reported WalesOnline. The rebrand will run throughout the coronation weekend, with the hotel having their very own guard at the entrance.
The change comes after research done by the hotel chain found 17 per cent of Brits are planning to flock to London for the bank holiday weekend. They surveyed 2,000 adults, finding out they are willing to travel an average of more than 100 miles to catch a glimpse of the event.

18 per cent of those surveyed also said they’d consider camping out in London to get the best spot for the event. More than one in five (21 per cent) travelled to London for a royal event in the past, including Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, and the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton the year before. 20 per cent made the trip to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday celebrations in 2016.
When it comes to the upcoming coronation, 41 per cent of those surveyed who plan to travel said it’s a great opportunity for the country to ‘come together’. 39 per cent wanting to be part of what promises to be an historic occasion, while 34 per cent think it will just be a fun day out.
Nearly one in 10 (nine per cent) will be going to a street party, and 14 per cent will use it as an opportunity to spend time with family. Simon Ewins, managing director at Premier Inn, said: "Millions of people across the nation will be celebrating the coronation, with many descending on the capital to celebrate this momentous day in person.

“It promises to be one of the city’s biggest days of the year, and we wanted to mark the occasion in a special way by re-naming one of our central London hotels for the special event. As some of our hotels near the coronation route are selling out in minutes and many of our hotels expected to be really popular, we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of well-wishers to our venues in the capital over the weekend.”
