MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent birthday greetings to Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on 21 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The message of greetings says that Belarus has great respect for the Armenian Apostolic Church, one of the oldest in Christianity, which has kept its unique traditions for almost 2,000 years.
“The faith of our ancestors has always been and remains an inviolable spiritual guideline for both Armenians and Belarusians, strengthens their sincere friendship and mutual understanding,” the head of state emphasized. “I am convinced that your selfless educational activities, well-deserved authority and prayerful assistance will be fully aimed at maintaining peace and harmony in the society, preserving the national identity of the Armenian people,” the head of state added.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Karekin II good health, confidence in the future and inexhaustible energy in his important service.
