A reform of the meal voucher system is planned, but is overdue, according to the Luxembourg Consumer Protection Association (ULC).
In a press release published on Wednesday morning, the ULC deplores the fact that fewer and fewer businesses accept meal vouchers. The association also argues that it is “unacceptable” that meal voucher holders are not reimbursed for the difference by retailers when the purchase price is lower than the value of the voucher(s). The ULC demands “clarity and fairness” on the matter from the government.
A modernisation of the meal voucher system was included in the last coalition agreement, but is still pending.
