According to a survey by the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook analysing 333 competitiveness criteria and covering 63 economies, the grand duchy ranked 13th in competitiveness, 30th in digital competitiveness and maintained third place in the talent ranking.
The competitiveness ranking examines the ability of countries to create and maintain a favourable business environment that sustains enterprise competitiveness. While the digital and talent competitiveness ranking analyses countries capacity to adopt and explore digital technologies and retain talent respectively.
In the latest report, the grand duchy raked 13th compared to 12th in 2021 and 15th in 2020. When ranked among its peer group–Europe, Africa and the Middle East–Luxembourg ranks a bit better in 9th position.
Luxembourg ranked 1st for economic performance, 13th for government efficiency, 20th for business efficiency and 24th for Infrastructure.
