A man aged in his fifties has been assaulted during a catalytic converter theft in Apple Grove, Rayners Lane.
Footage of the thieves running from the scene has been viewed over 5,000 times on social media. Rayners Lane police are aware of the incident.
In the footage, a racial slur is used as the thieves make an exit from the area, a woman can also be heard screaming.
London & UK Crime tweeted: “This happened in Harrow last night
“Bunch of thieves are stealing converters from electric cars.
“These man attacked a 60 year old man with a metal pole.
“They had various weapons such as axes and hammers.”
Met Police told Harrow Online: “On 28th February 2022, police were called to a catalytic converter theft in Apple Grove, Harrow.
“A 55 year old man was assaulted during the incident and suffered minor injuries.
“The individuals involved left prior to police arrival and at this stage have not been identified.”
