Australian Art Dealer Denis Savill Buys a Harborside Sydney Apartment for A$8.8 Million
Australia’s veteran art dealer Denis Savill has bought an apartment in Elizabeth Bay, a harborside eastern suburb of Sydney for A$8.8 million (US$5.85 million). “I want to spend my twilight years sitting back and drinking a scotch with a view of the harbor,” said Mr. Savil, who sold his eponymous art gallery in 2021 for A$5.3 million. Saudi Arabia Might Allow Foreigners to Buy Property Across the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia is planning a new law that will allow foreigners to buy property in all parts of the country, Abdullah Alhammad, CEO of the Real Estate General Authority said on Rotana Khalijia Television. Currently, foreigners can’t buy properties in Mecca and Madina. The law is designed to boost demand, which has slowed due to rapid price increases over the past two years. “The negative effects of foreign ownership of the property were monitored in advance so as to avoid them,” Mr. Alhammad said. California’s $2 Billion Powerball Winner Buys Second Luxury Home
Edwin Castro, the winner of the $2 billion California Powerball, has spent $4 million for a second mansion in the state, after dropping $25.5 million on a Hollywood Hills home earlier this month. The 30-year-old received a one-time lump sum payment of $997.6 million last month. His new Japanese-inspired pad has five bedrooms, two of which have been used as an art studio and a home theater.
