Investors Are Snapping up Foreclosed Luxury Properties in Hong Kong
Now is a good time for bargain hunters in Hong Kong’s high-end housing market. Home buyers and investors have been snatching up foreclosed luxury properties in the city as global interest rate hikes start to stagnate. Last week, a unit at the building Azura that was valued at HK$45 million (US$5.75 million) sold for HK$37 million, while a three-bedroom home at the development Alassio was sold for HK$34.8 million—about 20% less than its asking price. Singapore Condo Resale Prices Drop for the First Time in Five Months
What goes up must (finally) come down. According to data from SRX and 99.co, resale prices for condominiums in Singapore fell for the first time in five months in January. Values slipped 0.8% from December to start the year—but remained up 7.2% year over year. Industry experts expect the slight respite to be a brief reprieve as the launch of new developments at higher benchmark prices will also bolster the prices for condo resales. The Business Times

Manly Named Australia’s ‘Best Beach’
Manly Beach is Australia’s best sand-and-surf spot, according to Tripadvisor. The organization’s 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards ranked Manly seventh on a list of the world’s 35 best beaches, with a score of 4.5 out of 5, based on 7,751 reviews. Manly was the only Australian beach to rank on the list, and the region has property prices befitting a top performer. Median home prices in Manly, which is just a short ride from the Sydney Central Business District, reached A$4.4 million (US$2.87 million) in January, up 8.3% year over year. realestate.com.au
