‘Our expert baristas looked no further than our own backyard for a defining Aussie ingredient – native wattleseed – to create a deliciously unique coffee.’
The name, Australiano, is a cheeky swipe at Americans who have long called a simple long black an ‘Americano’.
The Australiano can be served hot or cold, in true Aussie style, according to the McDonald’s team.
The coffee is available now from McCafe’s Australia-wide for a limited time.
The McCafe van will also be traveling between Melbourne and Brisbane offerirng lucky coffee-lovers the opportunity to try it for free.
‘Despite being a nation of coffee connoisseurs, we don’t have a coffee to call our own,’ continued Lancy Huynh.
‘As a champion for Aussie coffee culture, McCafé wanted to right this wrong and craft a blend that Aussies can proudly put their name to.’
