Ever since Selling Sunset and its never-ending drama caught our attention, all eyes have been on the show’s cast.
And while some may have been immediately drawn to the intense personality of Christine Quinn or the sweet, Southern charm of Chrishell Stause, others became huge fans of the agents who were born across the pond.
From Maya Vander’s hilarious, dry humour to Vanessa Villela’s impressive ability to find friendships with everyone, there’s something about the show’s international players that prove American housing can be sold just as successfully by anyone.
Meet Chelsea Lazkani.
The 10th face joining the cast, the British-Nigerian agent confirmed the news on her Instagram sharing with her 20.4K followers that she would be joining Selling Sunset as the newest member of the Oppenheim Group.
“The secret is OUT! I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I have joined the cast of @netflix Selling Sunset! So grateful for everyone involved, the list is long and you know who you are,” the caption read. “The laughs, the lux, the drama, it’s all there in season 5 and I can’t wait for you all to see it!”
As fans would know Vanessa Villela and Emma Hernan joined the real estate brokerage to seemingly replace Christine, who was on maternity leave, and Davina, who temporarily left the Oppenheim Group. But this time around, Chelsea isn’t here to replace anyone, her talent alone has earned her the highly-coveted spot alongisde our favourites Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young, Maya Vander, and Amanza Smith.
With Selling Sunset‘s fifth season on the horizon, there’s no better time to become acquainted with the newest Oppenheim recruit that you’re sure to obsess over for the foreseeable future.
Here, everything you need to know about Chelsea Lazkani—from her multiple degrees to her oh-so-sweet family.
Unlike many of her coworkers at The Oppenheim Group, Chelsea was raised in the United Kingdom. According to People, she atteneded and graduated from the University of Birmingham in England and the University of Dundee in Scotland. On her Zillow page, which lists her biography, it reads:
“Chelsea Lazkani, a British native was raised in a ‘real estate family,’ after finishing her master’s in Scotland, U.K.,” the biography reads.
“Chelsea took her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for real estate and became a Realtor. Chelsea specializes in all aspects of the real estate business, whether it be educating first-time buyers on the lay of the land, to finding the most optimum plot of land for her developer clientele.”
However, Chelsea wasn’t always in the real estate industry. In 2013, while attending the University of Buckingham, she studied business and economics. Two years later, she earned her degree in International Oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee in Scotland.
According to People, the British-Nigerian realtor apparently worked in the corporate world as a business strategist and solar analyst prior to 2017. After she left that particular industry, she got her real estate license and started working at Rodeo Realty Inc., an agency based in Los Angeles where Million Dollar Listing star Josh Flagg also worked. Apparently, she took some time off to focus on raising her two children but is ready to jump back in.
“I think having the support of my husband and my family really essentially prepared me to take on this big role and this big opportunity,” Laznaki told People.
“It kind of helps me see my future trajectory by being around so many successful women,” she said, referring to joining the Oppenheim Group. “It helps materialise the fact that I can be selling $20 million, $30 million, $40 million homes, seeing other women in close proximity to me doing it.”
Chelsea has been married to her husband Jeff Lazkani since 2017. The pair share two children together: a three-year-old son, Maddox Ali Lavon and a two-year-old daughter, Melia Man.
As for how she got involved with Brett and Jason’s brokerage, well, she apparently met Jason through her husband. As for her children, Chelsea is clearly in love with her family. On her Instagram, she regularly posts images of her husband and her two children, from poolside cuddles to lounging around the home together.
When her daughter was born in 2020, Chelsea publicly shared her thoughts on the birth date, November 11. On Instagram, she explained that Melia’s birthdate was significant because numerically, it spelt 11/11.
“Our perfect angel is here. I manifested you on this exact day, 11/11,” she captioned a photo of her holding her daughter. “I’ve dreamed of you all my life and I already love you from the deepest place in my heart.”
Not only does Chelsea enjoy the luxury living that selling homes entails, but she also finds the same joys in life while travelling. Through her Instagram, she (like the rest of us) posts all about her travels, from sailing on the Amalfi Coast in Italy to celebrating her honeymoon in the Maldives—and getting there via a private plane.
