Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s attempts to “destroy the Royal Family” have been condemned by US citizens.
The couple’s popularity in the US has plummeted since the release of Harry’s autobiography, Spare.
The Sussexes have both dropped from positive polling scores to negative in the space of one month.
Marlon Bradford, 49, from Memphis, said: “Harry should have recognised he’s not like the rest of us and not exposed all that dirty linen.
“It’s an ugliness we don’t really want to see, even though all families have that side to them.
“It’s made so many people uncomfortable.”
Sheila Jones, a saleswoman from Danbury, Connecticut, told the Sun: “Meghan and Harry have destroyed the Royal Family.”
Whilst Patricia Bardaghaiw, 56, a novelist from Connecticut said: “I didn’t like this sort of ‘truth’ — it is over-sharing.”
In early December, Prince Harry’s popularity was +38 compared to -7 in the latest January poll.
Whilst Meghan Markle was less popular than Prince Harry in the US, the Duchess of Sussex had a positive polling score of + 23.
However, Meghan’s popularity has fallen to -13 in the newest poll.
Whilst Meghan is currently more unpopular than her husband in the US, Prince Harry’s popularity has suffered the bigger blow, dropping 45 points compared to the 36-point decrease for the Duchess of Sussex.
The fresh data is from pollster Redfield & Wilton, who also asked if Prince Harry was right to reveal private conversations he had with his family in his memoir.
In another blow to the Duke, only 26 per cent said he made the right move with 44 per cent saying they felt it was the wrong decision.
However, 37 per cent of Americans polled said they have the same opinion of Meghan and Harry as they did before Spare’s release.
The poll was made up of 2,000 US voters and shows a worrying dip in popularity for the Sussexes.
