Meghan Markle has been warned some of her “natural allies” in the US have been put off by the “scale of her vanity and arrogance” following the huge backlash to her Netflix documentary series. The six-part series from Meghan and Prince Harry largely sees the couple complain about their alleged ill treatment from the British press and being able to escape the UK for a new life in the US. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex portray a much happier life at their home in Montecito, California, specifically joining the ranks of Hollywood royalty who call Santa Barbara home.
The couple also make several more allegations against the Royal Family in a move many experts have warned could now destroy all ties with Buckingham Palace and the British people.
But Meghan has been warned the documentary series has backfired badly on the Duchess in her home country, with some of her “natural allies” turning against her.
Nile Gardiner, a Washington-based foreign policy expert and Royal Family fan, told Express.co.uk: “It is striking Meghan has had very little support from the woke liberal elites who haven’t come out in force to defend her.
“The scale of Meghan’s vanity and arrogance has even put off some of her natural allies on the American left.”

Meghan Markle has been warned of a huge backlash from the US
Meghan Markle has been accused of “projecting disdain” for the UK and “openly mocking” British people during her bombshell Netflix documentary series. During one of the earlier episodes, Meghan joked about having to curtsey to the late Queen after Prince Harry recounted the conversation he had with his wife when he first introduced her to Her Majesty.

“This has backfired spectacularly on Meghan and Harry and this is not the hit they were hoping it would be. It has alienated the British people but it has also failed to garner any significant support in America.
“Americans have no time for her complaints against the British monarchy or complaints of being a victim. Only a small minority in America would have sympathy for her.
He added: “The Royal Family is still very popular in the US and Americans love the British monarchy.
“With the passing of the Queen, there was a huge outpouring of grief in America. Every US flag was flown at half mast here for over a week. They love the Royal Family and Meghan attacking the monarchy is certainly not a popular move here.”

Harry and Meghan make several claims against the Royal Family during the Netflix documentary series
Mr Gardiner also warned the couple they have now all but ended relations with Buckingham Palace and have “completely destroyed” any remaining goodwill there may have been among the British people.
He said: “This is a bridge too far for Meghan and Harry with the Royal Family. There’s no turning back now from their latest vicious attacks.
“They have spectacularly burnt whatever bridges remain with Buckingham Palace but significantly, they have completely destroyed any remaining goodwill there may have been among the British people.”
During the documentary series, Harry alleged Kensington Palace “lied to protect” Prince William when it issued a joint statement in both their names the same day which he claims was without his permission, denying a story his brother had bullied him out of the Royal Family.

During one episode, the Duke of Sussex make reference to “institutional gaslighting” before the camera cuts to Meghan, who says: “I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.”
Harry also claimed his brother left him terrified when he screamed and shouted at him, while the Duke also accused his father King Charles III of saying untrue things when the Queen gathered them together at Sandringham in January 2020 to solve the ‘Megxit’ crisis.
The Duke of Sussex also accused his father of “saying things that just simply weren’t true” while claiming his plan to partially exit royal duties was outright rejected.
Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace said they will not be commenting on the allegations and claims made by Harry and Meghan in the latest episodes of their Netflix docu-series.
But in further embarrassment, Meghan and Harry’s documentary series has been met with accusations viewers were misled with footage and photographs that were not connected to the couple.
Harry and Meghan have been warned of a furious backlash from the UK public
A black and white picture in a trailer for the documentary series appears to show them being photographed by the press, as it shows photographers holding long lenses pointing at what appears to be the couple.
In fact, the photograph was taken from the premiere of the final Harry Potter film in London in 2011, with the press taking pictures of celebrities walking down a red carpet.
Another clip from the same trailer appears to show the press attempting to chase Harry and Meghan on foot. However, this turned out to be footage of Katie Price outside court last year after she had been sentenced for drink-driving.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, warned: “The inaccurate photographs undermine the validity of what Harry and Meghan are trying to say. It makes them the object of ridicule.
“If you are going to criticise the monarchy you have to make sure everything you say or do is absolutely correct.”
