The Duchess of Sussex wore an accessory given to her by the monarch
The official commemoration of the death of Queen Elizabeth II continues. On Wednesday, the remains of the former monarch were moved from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster.
The funeral procession included several members of the Royal Family, some standing and others in cars, as was the case of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s wife.
The Duchess of Sussex was dressed in mourning, all in black, but one detail of her accessories caught the eye and gained a lot of attention, considering what was being commemorated. The actress wore earrings that paid homage to Queen Elizabeth II.
Meghan Markle wore earrings given to her by Queen Elizabeth II for her wedding.
These two pieces were given to Meghan Markle by the monarch on the day she married her grandson, Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex wore them for the wedding, which took place on May 19, 2018 in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, where the remains of Queen Elizabeth II will lie. The earrings have a pearl with a diamond on top.
As well as wearing them on Wednesday, Meghan Markle chose a specific hairstyle. Prince Harry‘s wife has already shown off this jewellery on occasions other than her wedding, for example at an official event with Elizabeth II herself.
That is why it is believed that the fact that she wore these earrings in the monarch’s funeral procession is a gesture of homage to the recently deceased.
