Australian Home Has a Skylight Looking Into Its Swimming Pool
This home in Queensland, Australia, has an unusual amenity—a circular skylight in the dining room and kitchen that looks up into the property’s swimming pool. The house was built by Paul Clout and his design company for himself and his wife. “I thought it would just bring a sense of fun and playfulness into the home,” Clout said. The result is a light-filled space that “glistens as the sun moves and sparkles when it rains.” The three-bedroom home also has multiple indoor and outdoor entertainment areas and floor-to-ceiling windows. House Prices Hit a Record High in Britain
British house prices hit a record high of £375,131 (US$477,224) in May, according to data from online property portal Rightmove. Compared to April, the value of properties coming to the market rose 0.8%, or £2,807. Underpinning prices is pent-up demand from would-be buyers who have returned to the market after pausing their moving plans last year. May is usually a strong month for price growth—price records have been set in May in 12 of the previous 22 years. The Guardian
Dubai’s Hot Property Market Expected to Get Hotter
Dubai’s scorching property market is set to continue this year, with capital gains on villas projected to hit 10-year highs, according to consulting group ValuStrat. Apartment prices are also going to continue on an upward trajectory. “Apartment price growth, which only started gaining momentum in the second half of last year, is expected to reach new record highs this year,” said Haider Tuaima, ValuStrat’s director and head of real estate research. “It is highly likely that villa capital gains will exceed the record highs of 2022.” Zawya
