This was the moment armed police swooped on a Premier Inn to arrest three young boys on suspicion of murder. The trio were escorted out of the seafront hotel in Rhyl and brought to the West Midlands for questioning over the fatal stabbing of Bailey Atkinson in Walsall town centre.
Witnesses at the scene saw three unmarked police vehicles outside the hotel, alongside three marked patrol cars. The force's dog unit were also seen at the rear of the hotel, at around 9.45pm on Tuesday, January 31, NorthWalesLive reports.
Several armed officers were seen walking into the hotel before the teens – one aged 15 and two 16 – were escorted out of the building and into separate police cars. One officer was also seen within the lobby, holding what was described as a "drill".

North Wales Police later said: "We can confirm that three men were arrested at 9.45pm this evening at a hotel on West Parade, Rhyl. This incident resulted in significant police presence at the location including the attendance of armed officers.
"We would like to reassure the public that there are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing threat to the community. Police will continue to patrol and provide high visibility presence to suitably reassure the local community."
West Midlands Police today (Thursday, February 2) confirmed the teens had been arrested at a North Wales hotel earlier this week. The force said it also carried out two search warrants in Walsall this morning as the investigation continues.
Bailey, 20, from Bloxwich, was fatally attacked on High Street, near Asda, in the early hours of Saturday morning (January 28). He was taken to hospital, but later died of his injuries. A post-mortem revealed he died of multiple stab wounds.
Supt Pervez Mohammed, of Walsall Police, said: “We’ve had extra high visibility patrols in and around the areas since the awful events of Saturday night, to reassure the public. People will see extra officers over the coming days, and we’re working closely with management at pubs, clubs and bars as we continue to work hard to keep the borough safe.”
Bailey’s family previously paid tribute to a "kindhearted and much-loved son, brother and grandson" and urged anyone with information to come forward. They said: “We request if anyone has any information, they please come forward to help the police with their enquiries to help catch the individuals who done this and taken away our boy.”
