Home Prices Down Under Rise Most in Regional Spots
Australian home prices are rising most in regions away from capital cities, according to the latest Domain House Price Report. Areas that saw property values grow by more than 10% quarterly include New South Wales’ Coffs Harbour, Murray and Mid North Coast; the South Australian outback; and the Launceston area in Tasmania. The main driver of growth is sales of apartments. “The fact that affordability is changing so much in these regional markets means that buyers are steering to affordable alternatives—such as a unit—to gain access to the market,” said Nicola Powell, Domain’s chief of research and economics. Whimsical Vermont Property Hits Market

Known as High-Haven, the vision for the creative Vershire home came from the mind of a local artist and her engineer husband. Standing on 39 acres, it has an open layout painted with bright yellows, blue, greens and more. There’s also oversized windows taking in White Mountain views and even a tree inside the home. 92 Moose
Mortgage Approval Values Rising in Ireland
First-time buyers are helping drive up the value of mortgage approvals in Ireland, suggesting higher interest rates are doing little to dampen demand in the country, according to the Banking and Payments Federation Ireland. The value of approvals for home purchases rose 17% year on year in May—which ranked as the busiest month for first-time buyer approvals in volume and value since 2011. Buyers taking their first step onto the housing ladder in Ireland benefit from looser mortgage-lending limits and a range of government subsidies. Reuters
