If you’re looking for something new to play and happen to be a Switch Online subscriber, you should now be able to download the next free game trial.
The game on offer will depend on your region. In North America, it’s the Bandai Namco fighter Pokkén Tournament DX and over in Europe, it’s Ys VIII: Lamrimosa of Dana. Both titles are available from now until 24th August. There’s also a discount on each one. Pokken is 30% off its regular price, and Ys VIII is 50%.

I already have Pokken Tournament DX and I love playing it with friends but against randoms? not so much. Admittedly sometimes I can get rather irritated whenever I lose a match. As for Ys VIII Lamrinosa of Dana I have that on PC too.
Pokken Tournament doesn’t have much to it, but I still like it for being the first really HD Pokemon game. I’m not sure I’d want the mainline games in the same psuedo-realistic style, but it’s an interesting change of pace. Jump Force is cool for the same reason.
Good. I’m great against CPU but not online players, so maybe some more lower rank peoppe can join and have an evenly ranked sparring match. 
If I already owned one of these games*, will I still get the Platinum Points?
*I don’t actually own ether of these, but I’m just curious.

@SpiderSquid Yes. If you have it physically, you’ll need to insert the game card though.
Still need to rebuy Pokken Tournament. Lost the game when I was moving back home from college. It was a fun time so I’ll probably download the trial to have another play.
Hold up. This is not a great look nintendo. This has been done multiple times before. Same game. Give us something fresh and better than pokemon tournament

Yes full game for 1 week
Unfortunatly, i did not like this game. I think it is so simple in strategy. I´m a fighting game player. I put this game on the same level as Toshinden for Playstation 1.

I’ve never played Pokken so I’ll definitely grab this trial. I doubt I’ll buy it afterwards (unlike a couple of the other trials which snagged me), but I’m interested to try it.
Why most of you talking about pokemon? Ys is much better game than this pokemon game Try it you won’t regret it.
Pikachu doing 10-hit combos and a Stone Cold Stunner makes this worth the download.

I highly encourage anyone in Europe to give Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana a try, especially if you like ARPGs. It’s arguably one of the best I’ve played. Just a step under Xenoblade I’d say.
ID RATHER HAVE YS 8 IN AMERICA.. AND THERES NO DISCOUNT FOR IT IN THE US I BEEN WANTING TO PLAY IT FOR AWHILE NOW. IT LOOKS LIKE XENO BLADES
@iaLgan They were just saying that this is the second time Pokken was a game trial, which I don’t remember it being one, because I’ve really wanted to play this. There were no other Pokemon game trials as far as I can remember.

@shoeses I like Pokemon Rumble games, but with their intentionally polygonal models and minimal animation, they’re about the opposite of a visual showcase, so I’m not counting it.
Definitely taking a look at Ys this weekend (may as well grab my 100 Platinum Points for doing so and I may just end up liking it as well if a certain individual’s love for it is anything to go by ) and, while I lament the fact that I won’t be able to play Pokken, it is what it is and it’s a very solid selection of Game Trials regardless
