Is your pesky wallet or purse getting in the way during your errands? A company is selling implantable microchips as an alternative payment method.
The British-Polish company called Walletmor is offering the rice grain-sized microchip for about $300, according to CNN.
It must be implanted in your body, preferably your hand. It can be activated using a digital wallet app — the company says people with the implant will be able to make purchases at most businesses around the world just by swiping a hand over a card reader.
Right now, chips are only being sold to citizens in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and countries in the European Union.
Nearly 200 people already have the implants, according to Walletmor. The company suggests using a surgeon or one of its trusted specialists for the minor operation.
