Oceanfront Villa Outside Sydney With Ties to George Michael Hits the Market for A$15 Million
An oceanfront villa in Palm Beach, a northern suburb of Sydney, that was associated with the late British singer and songwriter George Michael has come to the market for A$15 million (US$10.5 million). The superstar, behind such hits as “Careless Whisper” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” was believed to have bought or rented the property when he visited Sydney in 2010 before his scheduled performance in 2012, part of a tour that was eventually canceled. Michael died of heart failure in 2016 at age 53. U.K. Sees the Most Widespread House Price Declines Since 2009
British housing markets saw the most widespread price declines since 2009 in January, according to the latest data from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The institution’s index to measure the difference between percentage of survivors seeing price rises and falls, dropped to -47, the lowest since April 2009. “However, it is questionable how much downside to pricing there is likely to be given that recent macro forecasts from the Bank of England and others are now envisaging a less harsh economic environment this year,” said Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at RICS. 12-Acre Lakefront Estate in Minnesota Lists for $13 Million
A more than century-old house overlooking Lake Minnetonka in Wayzata, Minnesota, is on the market for $13 million, making it one of the most expensive homes in the state. The property has a 7,635-square-foot, six-bedroom main residence built in 1914 and a guest cottage. The 12-acre estate features a wooded private driveway, bluestone patios, gardens, lawns and a dock.
