I thank God that Joanne Kaufman has read Harry Windsor’s “Spare” (
Bookshelf, Jan. 11) so the rest of us don’t have to. It will likely shock the Sussexes to learn that throwing one’s family under the bus isn’t a reasonable path to reconciliation. I can’t under any circumstances imagine myself telling friends private and unflattering stories about my family members to make myself look better, much less broadcasting such for profit.
That Harry feels he deserves so much more than has already flooded over him reminds me of a humorous criticism of the entitled elite: He was born on third base but thinks he hit a triple.
