Israeli army radio said the assailant threw a Molotov cocktail at Israeli forces
A Palestinian terrorist was killed in clashes with the Israeli army near Bethlehem late Monday, the Palestinian Authority health ministry confirmed.
The ministry identified the deceased, who was shot in the head, as 20-year-old Zakaria Zaoul.
Israeli army radio said a terrorist hurled a Molotov cocktail at a passing Israeli military vehicle before he was shot in the head. Footage released on social media showed a Palestinian hurling an incendiary bomb at an armored car, as well as further clashes as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) used crowd dispersal means.
Earlier in the day, several Israeli soldiers were wounded in a car-ramming attack in the northern West Bank. The terrorists involved were “neutralized,” Israeli security officials said.
An operation in Jenin early Monday left five several Palestinian terrorists dead, while dozens of Palestinians and eight Israeli soldiers were wounded. Israel even deployed helicopter support to assist its troops in withdrawing.
