Godless heathens get hungry, too. That’s why it’s wonderful to hear of Perth venues staying open across the Easter long weekend, albeit most with a 15 per cent surcharge on the public holidays.
Fremantle’s Nieuw Ruin is serving dinner to make your Good Friday a great Friday, before opening midday till late for the rest of the weekend (last bookings at 8pm on Monday).
The Norfolk Street favourite’s a la carte menu is stacked with seafood dishes using the best local and sustainably caught produce, while there’s everything from long lunches and indulgent dinners to bar snacks available.
Nieuw Ruin head chef Blaze Young offers her Chef’s Menu for $70 per person, with paired wines for an additional $55.
Bookings are open.
Meanwhile, Bright Tank in East Perth is offering a one-off Bougie Bottomless Brunch on Easter Sunday from 10am to 3pm (last booking).
Tickets are $60 per person for two courses from the in-house restaurant Brown Street Grill and two hours of selected free-flowing drinks (or $40 per person for non-alcoholic beverages).
The first course choices include wood-fired pastries, BSG co-owner Phoebe Law’s granola, and hot cross buns with whipped maple butter, while second-course options range from spinach and goats cheese or bacon and mushroom pides, Moroccan baked eggs or wood-roasted Kardinya mushrooms.
Easter brunchers can go for prosecco and mimosas or embrace the fact you’re in a microbrewery with a guava-gose-beermosa and other Bright Tank breakfast beers (that is, East Perth Lager, Hazy Pale and Ginger Beer).
Bookings for Bright Tank are essential.
