We’ll restrain ourselves from making too many terrible puns (we’re on a see-food diet, ha ha) – if you’re looking for succulent seafood, we’ve found Perth’s best.
If you’re a next-level seafood fiend, you can also check out Perth’s best seafood platters, Perth’s best fish and chips, or dive into some stupendous sashimi at one of Perth’s best Japanese restaurants.
There’s a whole pile of reasons Madalena’s is considered one of the country’s best restaurants – and the seafood is a big part of it. Sustainably caught and supplied by local outfit Fins, a revolving daily catch keeps the menu in constant, seasonal motion – but you’re always guaranteed a good time.

North Freo’s fresh catch Al Lupo may not technically be a seafood restaurant, but its beachside locale has certainly inspired a marine-leaning menu. Fire and water work in sync here: local scallops are topped with chilli-spiked butter, grilled octopus sizzles alongside guanciale and a zippy salsa verde, tiger prawns sit proudly atop focaccia, dusted with the earthy zing of Aleppo pepper – or just grab a half dozen oysters and douse them liberally with hot sauce. Ahoy there, sailor!

Get ready to don your bib and gloves – you’re gonna need ’em. At first glance, a visit to Grabs may not be first-date material, but we say there’s no better way to assess your potential lovah than the gusto with which they dive into that Cajun, Singaporean chilli or Vietnamese-style XO-sauced seafood boil.

You can’t mention seafood around Perth without someone passionately extolling the virtues of the aptly-named Art of Seafood. Their seafood towers have become the thing of legend – and while we certainly appreciate our fair share of battered and fried seafood, the Art of Seafood keeps things pleasingly fresh with a huge, chilled assortment that includes lobster (of course), tiger prawns, oysters, scampi, Shark Bay Crab, pickled octopus and confit tuna.
306 Riverside Drive, East Perth
If you’re looking for a feast, you’ve found it! The Cray are known for their mammoth seafood platters featuring favourites like Mornay crayfish, battered and crumbed fish, chilli mussels, prawn and scallop skewers, creamy garlic prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, calamari and oysters – but you can also delve into the à la carte menu if you’re feeling a little more restrained.

Kailis is practically synonymous with seafood here in WA, so why not head to the source? Their Leederville fish market and cafe is your one-stop-shop for everything sea-faring – whether you’re treating yourself to a plate of chilli and lime-dressed scallops, a comforting bowl of seafood chowder (chowdah!) or going all-out with a whole-lobster mornay!
101 Oxford Street, Leederville
Stone Jetty ain’t your average fish and chip shop. While you can certainly get an excellent battered piece of fish, these guys take it to the next level with New Zealand king salmon and Shark Bay king prawn poké bowls, prawn rolls with labneh tartare and tempting fish tacos.
115A Brighton Road, Scarborough
But of course, we have to include everyone’s favourite special occasion pit stop Nobu! This global, Robert De Niro-owned brand has made a name for itself in excellence, and its Perth outpost is no different. The “new style” salmon sashimi, yellowtail with jalapeño and black cod miso… These are internationally-renowned classics for a reason.
